Day 3 for me was really fun. We got to look at the count the bacteria and look at all the different stuff in the bacteria through the microscope and the stereoscope. We found alot of water spiders in the algae we looked at. My favorite kind of microscope is the stereoscope. Day3 was also my favorite part of the day. I’ve learned alot about science so far and hope to learn alot more.

Today was a great day! I really enjoyed working in the lab. I got to count the bacteria’s from the samples that were collected in Day 2. Wearing the lab coats really made me feel like a real scientist. I can not wait until tommorrow! I have plenty more things in store for me. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! What a day!@#$%^&*()

For day three I had a lot of fun. I was glad i got to look at the bacteria. We found out there is more bacteria in the swimming area than in the pier area. That could be very harmful to the people who play in the sand, because the muck could carry diseases. My onion for the day was looking at the spiders moving. My apple for the day was looking at the bacteria.

We spent today at the beach collecting data to study our research question. Here are our reflections on the day …
“Today was another great day, but stepping in the muck, beach and lake was horrible. But at least I was contributing to my group and community. Helping out is a good thing. Don’t you think so?” -Hanan
Jadiza’s onion (worst thing) for today was “almost falling in the muck!”.
When thinking about what we could do differently with data collection Christina wrote: “I would try each data collection again to make sure everything is right”.
Carla felt if we were doing data collection differently “we would go on the pier”.

Our current investigation:
How does the amount of bacteria change in different water levels from the shore?
Carla’s blog for July 23, 2007:
When predicting the outcome of our investigation question Carla wrote: “There is more bacteria closer to the shore than far from the shore.”

When reflecting on what she did today at the beach, Hanan wrote: “Today me and my peers were @ Charlotte beach. At the front of the shore it was filled with thick muck, but less far out. The muck was filled with seaweed and algae. What a horrible smell and sight. Ha Ha Ha J LOL.”
